Student Code of Ethics

As a YATA student, I commit to:

Respecting Others

  • Treat all students, directors, staff, volunteers, and audience members with kindness and respect.
  • Celebrate the successes of my peers.
  • Encourage others rather than compete against them.

Supporting the Entire Production

  • Recognize that every role contributes to the final product.
  • Support leads, ensemble members, understudies, doubles, technicians, and stage management equally.
  • Be a positive audience member when I am not actively rehearsing.

Being Accountable

  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to participate.
  • Learn my material and fulfill my responsibilities.
  • Take ownership of my actions and mistakes.

Protecting Our Community

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility.
  • Treat costumes, props, sets, equipment, and rehearsal spaces with care.
  • Look for ways to help rather than waiting to be asked.

Demonstrating Good Character

  • Avoid gossip, bullying, exclusion, or disrespectful behavior.
  • Use social media responsibly and positively.
  • Represent YATA with integrity both inside and outside the studio.
